Ashok Lavasa has resigned as the Election Commissioner to join the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as Vice President in September. At ADB, Lavasa will succeed Diwakar Gupta, who is in charge of private sector operations and public-private partnerships. Lavasa was appointed Election Commissioner in January 2018 and had over two years left in his term at the Election Commission.
