Commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland said it is shutting down its Pantnagar facility in Uttarakhand for 9 days starting Tuesday because of "weak demand and outlook for the industry". The plant can manufacture 1.5 lakh units annually. The Hinduja Group company's total vehicle sales in June stood at 12,810 units, down 19% from last year.
