The government on Wednesday appointed former Railway Board Chairman Ashwani Lohani as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Air India. This will be his second tenure as Air India chief. Lohani, who retired from the Railway Board in December 2018, has also served as the Chairman of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).
