Assam Congress prez Gogoi detained during protest against CEC Gyanesh

Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi and several senior party leaders were detained on Friday during a protest demanding the removal of CEC Gyanesh Kumar. They marched from the party's state headquarters towards the Chief Electoral Officer's office, planning to burn the CEC's effigy. This comes amid reports of differences among EC members over Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
