The Assam government has launched a scheme to provide dairy farmers a subsidy of ₹5 per litre of milk for the milk they give for processing at cooperative societies. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the scheme will benefit over 20,000 dairy farmers by boosting their income and encouraging them to increase milk production.
