The Assam Assembly has passed three bills for increasing the monthly salary of the Chief Minister, Assembly Speaker, Deputy Speaker, ministers, and MLAs by 33-50%. While the Chief Minister's salary and allowance will be hiked to ₹1.64 lakh from ₹1.07 lakh, salaries of MLAs will be increased by 33.3% to ₹80,000. The decision will be applicable from this month.
