Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the state's three-tier cancer care programme has raised the cancer survival rate to 62%, above the national average. The improvement is attributed to early screening, timely diagnosis and treatment. Assam has screened 47 lakh people so far and aims to cover 1.24 crore in the next phase.
