Assam government will invest ₹550 crore to set up a proton beam therapy facility at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The advanced cancer treatment centre will provide precise therapy with less damage to healthy tissues. GMCH will become one of the first government hospitals in India to offer this advanced cancer care facility.
