The 22-year-old mother arrested for selling her child for ₹50,000 in Assam is allegedly mentally unstable said the police authorities. The Police also revealed that during the questioning she was unable to name the baby’s father. Investigators suspect she may have been manipulated possibly by a trafficking or illegal adoption network that preyed on her vulnerable state.
