A new study shows astronauts on Mars missions risk permanent kidney damage. Reviewing the health of 24 astronauts who travelled to the moon, researchers found many suffered kidney changes, leading to painful stones and the potential need for dialysis. Planned Mars missions by NASA and Elon Musk face jeopardy until drugs to protect astronauts' kidneys are developed, the study stated.
