A US federal judge has approved telecommunications and cable giant AT&T's $85.4 billion acquisition of media conglomerate Time Warner without imposing any conditions. The judge rejected the government's argument that the combination would hurt competition and harm consumers. The deal gives AT&T ownership of cable channels such as HBO and CNN as well as film studio Warner Bros.
