Australia cuts fuel tax by 50% amid war in Middle East

Amidst soaring fuel prices due to ongoing war in Middle East, Australian PM Anthony Albanese announced that government would halve excise on fuel and diesel. Halving the tax would reduce the cost by 26.3 Australian cents per litre, Albanese said. India has also cut special additional excise duty on petrol by ₹10 to ₹3/litre and on diesel to zero.
