Australia’s RMIT develops molybdenum nanodots to kill cancer cells

Researchers at RMIT, Australia, have developed microscopic molybdenum oxide nanodots that selectively kill cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue. Tested in cell cultures, these particles release reactive oxygen to trigger cancer cell self-destruction. Cost-effective and safer than noble metals, this approach could lead to targeted, less toxic cancer therapies in the future.
