Chinese authorities are instructing the country's top artificial intelligence entrepreneurs and researchers to avoid travel to the US, the WSJ reported. China is concerned that its AI experts, when travelling abroad, could divulge confidential information about the nation's progress in AI. China also fears its AI experts might get detained and "used as a bargaining chip" in US-China negotiations.
