Ayush, Unnati advance to badminton singles pre-quarters at Asiad

Indian shuttlers Ayush Shetty and Unnati Hooda advanced to the badminton men's and women's singles pre-quarters, respectively, at the Asian Games 2026. Ayush defeated Kazakhstan’s Makhsut Tajibullayev 21-7, 21-7 in 21 minutes in the round of 32, while 19-year-old Unnati beat Malaysia's Wong Ling Ching 21-14, 20-22, 21-19 in 79 minutes. Ayush will next face Chinese Taipei’s Chou Tien Chen.
