Amid strained ties with India, Bangladesh has reportedly allowed a Chinese envoy to visit a site close to India’s Siliguri Corridor, or 'Chicken’s Neck'. Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen visited Teesta project near the strategic corridor. The visit comes after Bangladesh Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus’ remarks on extending the Chinese economy and describing India’s Northeast as "landlocked".
