Bengaluru West corporation commissioner Rajendra KV, who visited some Indira canteens, said the quality of food is "very bad", the idlis were rubbery and hard, while sambhar was watery with minimal vegetables and dal. "These canteens were meant to serve nutritious meals to the poor and the working class. What we found was far from acceptable," he stated.
