BJP President Amit Shah called Mahatma Gandhi a "chatur baniya", saying he knew what would happen with Congress in future and hence wanted to dismantle it after independence. "The Congress was a special purpose vehicle for independence...Mahatma Gandhi knew what was going to happen...He didn't do it, but some people are now completing the job of dissolving it," said Shah.
