Bajaj Auto will acquire a majority stake in KTM AG with €800-million rescue package to revive the bankrupt Austrian two-wheeler major. The package comes through Bajaj Auto's subsidiary BAIHBV, which includes €450-million secured term loan to KTM and €150-million in convertible bonds. Bajaj Auto is also seeking regulatory approval in Austria to acquire a controlling interest in KTM's parent firm.
