Bajra replaces cotton in South Haryana fields

Due to frequent pest infestations in cotton crop and erratic weather conditions in the region, a majority of farmers who used to grow cotton in Mahendragarh and nearby districts have switched over to bajra (pearl millet) recently. The area under cotton cultivation has reduced drastically in Haryana, particularly in the southern part of the state, during the past few years.
