Bangladesh halts Hilsa imports, Durga Puja supply at risk

Bangladesh cancelled no-objection certificates of 103 fish importers, stopping Hilsa imports from India and Myanmar. Over 1,739 MT had been imported recently. With Durga Puja approaching in October, West Bengal traders fear Bangladesh may also withhold export permits for Padma Hilsa, leaving a very short window for imports before the festive season.
