BJP-led Centre's Waqf Amendment Bill proposes changes in regulation of Waqf properties. It proposes to include at least two non-Muslims in Waqf Boards and give Collector powers to decide if disputed property is Waqf. It does away with concept of "Waqf by user", mandating that every Waqf property be registered on central database within six months of the law's commencement.

Commuters on national highways and expressways will have to pay more on road journeys as National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) increased toll charges by an average of 4-5% on highway sections across the country. The death toll from the massive earthquake in Myanmar has reached 2,719 and is expected to rise to over 3,000, the country's military leader Min Aung Hlaing said in a televised address. Aid groups in the worst-hit areas said there was an urgent need for shelter, food and water. Hlaing added that 4,521 people were injured, and 441 were missing.

Apple has launched Apple Intelligence for users in India. The AI features have been launched with iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4 and macOS Sequoia 15.4 updates. They'll be available on iPhone 15 Pro and later models, and iPad and MacBook's Air and Pro models powered by M1 or later chips. The features include Visual Intelligence (which can extract information from pictures).
