Bangladesh has demanded an official apology from Pakistan for the genocide committed by its troops during the 1971 Liberation War. The message was conveyed by Bangladesh's Deputy Foreign Minister Shahriar Alam to Pakistan's envoy to Dhaka, Imran Siddiqui. Alam also sought completion of the repatriation of stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh and settling the issue of the division of assets.
