Bangladesh summoned acting Indian High Commissioner Pawan Badhe to protest remarks by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. In an interview, he had said, "I pray to God every morning that the situation which existed during Yunus‍‍’ time should remain the same; that relations shouldn't improve further." Dhaka termed the comments “counterproductive” and warned they could harm bilateral relations with India.
