A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court sentenced Kausar, a Bangladeshi man and India head of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), to 29 years in jail for his involvement in 2014 Burdwan blast case. He was also fined ₹35,000 for the offences. Kausar was convicted under sections of the IPC, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Arms Act and the Foreigners Act.
