Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge criticised the PM Narendra Modi-led BJP government over rising bank frauds in the last 11 years, saying "fraud and fakery" run in the veins of his government. He added, "There have been bank frauds worth ₹6,36,992 crore...an increase of 416%." He also said that after demonetisation, the number of fake ₹500 notes has risen by 291%.
