Banks, unions differ over Sunday being working day ahead of strike

Government said public sector banks and Regional Rural Banks will remain open on Sunday (September 27) ahead of proposed three-day bank unions’ strike from September 28. The All India Bank Officers' Association advised members not to report to work, citing the day as a holiday under the Industrial Disputes Act. Meanwhile, SBI said its branches will remain open on Sunday.
