A Barbie doll was sent to the Moon in 1965, four years before Neil Armstrong became the first human to walk on the Moon. Barbie's Moon mission was to celebrate Valentina Tereshkova who became the first woman to go into space in 1963. Barbie travelled to space again in 1985 and 1994 to mark the Moon landing anniversary.
