India’s basmati rice exports to West Asia have slowed after the Iran-Gulf conflict disrupted shipping, exporters said. Ajay Bhalotia of the AIREA said new demand has stopped and older orders are stuck, with Iran accounting for about 25% of shipments directly or via other routes. Containers at Mundra and Kandla are facing higher port and war-related shipping charges, he said.
