The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will initiate action against over 5,000 illegal buildings in the city built in violation of bylaws and sanctioned plans. This comes after Karnataka High Court demanded a report on illegal constructions following a series of building collapses. The court also asked the BBMP to submit a plan to prevent such incidents in the future.
