Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticised Rahul Gandhi for hinting that the Army is controlled by 10% of India's population, i.e., the upper castes. "You should be ashamed for trying to divide our armed forces on the lines of religion and caste," Shah said, adding that every soldier is respectable. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had earlier condemned Gandhi's remarks.
