After NCERT dropped the title 'Great' from Akbar and Tipu Sultan in textbooks, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed the decision, calling it a corrective step. He said, "Beat Tipu-Ipu completely. Wherever you want to send them, send them there. Throw them into the sea." RSS leader Sunil Ambekar also supported the move, saying he was happy with NCERT's initiative.
