Suyash Saraf, co-founder of Dot & Key, noted that the beauty industry makes very high profits, around 70–75%. This gives brands a lot of money to spend, but most of it goes into marketing, not improving the products. As a result, consumers often pay more for how a product looks or is advertised, not how well it actually works.
