Beetroot provides bioavailable folate and non-heme iron, which support erythropoiesis. While its iron is modest and less efficiently absorbed, vitamin C co-consumption may enhance uptake. Small clinical studies suggest potential benefits in mild anaemia cases, but further research and clinical oversight remain essential.
