Beetroot may help anaemia but isn't a substitute for treatment
short by / on Wednesday, 23 April, 2025
Beetroot offers moderate levels of non-heme iron and folate, essential for red blood cell synthesis. While clinical evidence supports minor haemoglobin improvements, its efficacy remains supplementary. Vitamin C enhances absorption; calcium inhibits it. Beetroot may assist in mild anaemia but is not a replacement for medically indicated treatments.
