Belarus Police detain over 1,000 during overnight protests

Belarusian police detained over 1,000 protesters on the third night of protests on Tuesday that broke out over President Alexander Lukashenko's re-election in the polls held on August 9, authorities said on Wednesday. Reportedly, more than 6,000 people have been detained over three nights of protests. Fifty-one protesters were injured during the protests overnight, Belarus' Interior Ministry said.
