West Bengal will introduce a revised school curriculum from 2027, adding lessons on Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee in textbooks. The Class 8 chapter on the Mamata Banerjee-led Singur land movement and Kanyashree scheme-related lessons might be removed. Rabindranath Tagore's poem 'Africa' may be replaced by his 'Shivaji Utsav'. Words like "paani" will be replaced with "jol".
