Bengal CM blames Jharkhand for floods, closes border for 3 days

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticised the Jharkhand government on Thursday, accusing Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) of causing "man-made" floods by releasing water from its dam. She ordered the closure of the Bengal-Jharkhand border for three days. Banerjee threatened to sever ties with DVC, blaming it for failing to dredge dams, which she alleged led to flooding in Bengal.
