Bengaluru bans meat sales and animal slaughter across GBA limits

Bengaluru has banned animal slaughter and meat sales across Greater Bengaluru Authority limits on September 14 for Ganesh Chaturthi 2026. Authorities warned of legal action against violations. Meanwhile, Halasuru Lake will allow eco-friendly clay Ganesha idol immersion on designated dates, with CCTV, ambulances, cranes, lighting, drinking water and traffic management arrangements.
