Bengaluru civic body uses AI to recover property tax

Bengaluru West City Corporation used AI voice calls in Kannada to reach property tax defaulters. The campaign made 4.54 lakh calls to 59,604 owners between March and June. Around 26,962 owners agreed to clear their dues, potentially enabling recovery of ₹35.1 crore. Officials said the system also helped identify outdated phone numbers and properties with no pending dues.
