Bengaluru lemon prices soar nearly 4 times amid drought
Karnataka's drought has sharply reduced lemon production, pushing Bengaluru retail prices from ₹75-90 to ₹340-350 per kg. Crop yields have fallen nearly 60 per cent across major lemon-growing districts, while festive demand remains high. Traders said a 70-kg bag that usually costs ₹1,000-1,500 now sells for ₹4,000-4,500, further driving market prices.
