Bengaluru's Basaveshwara Nagar police arrested Muthu Abhimanyu from Tamil Nadu for allegedly attempting to murder a woman by setting her on fire after she refused his marriage proposal to her daughter. The victim, Geetha, suffered 50% burns and is in critical condition. Police launched a manhunt, registered an attempted murder case, and are continuing the investigation.
