Bengaluru plans India's first fully elevated rail terminal project

South Western Railway proposed India's first fully elevated ₹6,000 crore rail terminal in Bengaluru's Yelahanka, inspired by China's Hangzhou station. The five-level hub on 20 acres will feature 16 platforms, vertical design to save space, and metro connectivity. It aims to ease pressure on existing stations handling over 140 daily trains amid soaring passenger traffic.
