Inmates at Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Prison have gone on a hunger strike protesting against an official's demand for a bribe to allow liquor to be smuggled into the prison. The inmates were reportedly asked to pay ₹25,000 on top of the ₹1.25 lakh they already paid to the Executive Jailor. The inmates also submitted a complaint to higher authorities.
