Private bus fares from Bengaluru surged sharply ahead of Gowri-Ganesha festival, with tickets on some routes reportedly touching ₹7,999 as thousands of residents head to their hometowns for the festive break. The rush began on Friday and continued through Saturday as people travelled to various districts with private buses charging as much as three to four times the price.
