Many areas in Bengaluru will face power cuts between 10 am and 6 pm from May 26-28 due to high electricity consumption for the construction of the Metro Rail. Areas like Marathahalli, Whitefield, Challaghatta, Koramangala, Basavanagar, among others will be affected. Bangalore Electricity Supply Company officials said power cut was necessary for the safety of metro construction workers.
