Bengaluru witnessed 7,953 crimes in 2021, as compared to 7,449 in 2020, data shared by the city's Police Commissioner Kamal Pant showed. However, the number of murders and burglaries reduced in the city. Last year, 148 murders took place in Bengaluru, as compared to 173 and 199 murders in 2020 and 2019, respectively.
