Bengaluru's Namma Metro registered its highest-ever one-day ridership on Independence Day (Monday) with a footfall of 8.25 lakh, metro officials said. "The flower show at Lalbagh, the 'freedom march' at National College ground...contributed to the highest-ever ridership," an official said. On August 15, the metro corporation ran nearly 170 trips as compared to 135 trips it makes on regular days.
