US President Joe Biden on Tuesday conferred arts and humanities medals to 23 people and organisations. Actor-producer Mindy Kaling, Bruce Springsteen, actor Julia Louis-Dreyfus, singer Gladys Knight and others were given the medals at a ceremony at the White House. The awards being bestowed are for 2021, owing to a backlog due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
