The Bihar government on Monday ordered a judicial inquiry into the alleged police encounter of 28-year-old social activist Bharat Tiwari. A committee headed by a retired High Court judge has been set up for an impartial and transparent probe. Tiwari, a resident of Bilauti village in Bhojpur's Shahpur area, was allegedly killed in the police encounter on June 17.
